Offered is an impressive, good sized (16cm including spines), well preserved and complete example of the Upper Ordovician Odontopleurid Selenopeltis cf buchi , from the Ktoua Formation of El - kaid Errami, Morocco.
This fine and sharp example is complete with both librigena and genal spines. All of the thoracic spines are intact too and the pygidium shows a prosopon of pustules, suggesting S. buchi (Barrande 1846). The thoracic pleural spines are however shorter posteriorly in this example than is typical of UK and European S, buchi populations.
